Brief Description
Are you passionate about childcare and looking to develop a career in a nursery setting? Brown Bears childcare have a great opportunity to train as an Early Years practitioner and gain your level 2 whilst supporting children’s learning, play and development and building key relationships.
Qualifications Required
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or willingness to work towards these
Personal Qualities
A genuine interest in working with young children and supporting their development.
A positive, caring, and enthusiastic attitude
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn and complete all apprenticeship training requirements.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to working 30 hours per week
Skills Required
Some experience (paid or voluntary) in a childcare or early years setting.
Desire to help children develop and grow to achieve their full potential
Organisation

Training to be Provided
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
• Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

Assist in the daily care, supervision, and learning of children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Support children’s personal, social, emotional, and educational development through play-based activities.
• Help to plan and prepare stimulating activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and learning.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, following health, safety, and safeguarding procedures.
• Support with meal times, nappy changes, and toileting as appropriate.
• Observe, record, and reflect on children’s progress under the guidance of qualified staff.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and assessments as part of your apprenticeship programme.
• Uphold the nursery’s policies and values, ensuring all children are treated with respect, equality, and care.
