Brief Description

Are you looking to start your career in childcare? Red Kite Children’s Day Nursery are looking for a Early Years Apprentice to join their team, you will be required to work shifts between 30-40 hours per week across 4-5 days, supporting the learning and development of children through play, activities and care.

Qualifications Required

GCSE Maths and English at a Grade 4/C or equivalent.

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

As an apprentice your duties will be:

• To attend team meetings and input ideas.
• Under supervision, to provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
• To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
• To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
• To be aware of the nurseries confidentiality policy.
• To support all staff and engage in a good staff team.

You will help maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, support the nursery as a whole and remain aware of the needs of all children. They must maintain confidentiality and help provide a high-quality, inclusive environment that meets the individual needs of children from different cultural and religious backgrounds and stages of development.

Other Information

A DBS will be required to be undertaken for this role.
