Brief Description

Are you a passionate early years practitioner looking to continue to develop your career in a supportive nursery setting? Playfield Nursery have a great opportunity to train as an Early Years Educator Apprentice and gain your level 3 whilst supporting children's learning, play and development.

Qualifications Required

L2 Early years qualification - preferred
Level 2 in English -preferred
Experience of working with young children

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

About the Role

As an Apprentice Nursery Educator, you will:

Be part of a friendly, supportive, and experienced team
Be fully aware of Playfield Nursery’s operational policies and procedures
Act as Key person to a small number of children
Contribute to and attend his/ her supervision and appraisal
Assist in setting up and clearing all toys and equipment before the start and at the end of the session.
Assist in the preparation of snacks, supervise the children during snack time to supervise the children where appropriate and to protect them from dangerous or harmful situations as directed by senior staff.
Provide a high level of care that will enhance the children’s general health and well-being.
Ensure that all toys and equipment are safe and clean at all times.
Carry out observations in order to identify a child’s learning and developmental needs.
keep informative, accurate and up to date written reports including developmental reports of key children’s progress.
Keep up to date with current good practice.
Share any safeguarding or child protection concerns immediately with the Manager/Senior officer in charge
Attend and contribute to regular team meetings
Perform any other duties as directed by the Manager/Deputy Manager.
Monitor and share progress of key group of children and contribute to the planning of activities and delivery of the EYFS curriculum.
